South Carolina is not a franchise registration state. South Carolina is a franchise filing state. If you have a federally registered trademark with the USPTO, you are exempt from business opportunity requirements. However, if you don't have a registered trademark, you will be required to register your franchise offering as a business opportunity with the State of South Carolina.
